Discover the interview of Thanasis Kakios, located in Athens, Greece.
How did you become designer?
I came from a small town of Greece, Egio. My family and many of my friends don’t have any idea about what kind of job it is. Nevertheless, I always loved architecture, photography, music, painting and generally design.
So, I become a designer when I realised that I can create new things from scratch.
How would you define your vision of design, your style?
One of the principles which I believe in, is the well known “LESS IS MORE”(Ludwig Mies van der Rohe). I avoid using unnecessary elements and Ι always try to be as simple as I can. The rectangular and the circle are the shapes which I prefer to use and my favourite colours are black and white.
For the future, what are your professional projects?
I would like to be based in a city, but work for brands from all over the world.
What do you like the most in your job?
The thing I love the most in my job, is that it’s not a job. For me it’s just a hobby. I really like to design for everyone and for everything.
