Discover the interview of Sofia Balli Montalvo:
How did you become designer?
I became a designer through curiosity and a constant need to understand why things look and feel the way they do. I’ve always been drawn to visuals, but more than that, I was fascinated by how design influences emotion, behavior, and decision-making. Overtime, design became the way I learned to tell stories and translate ideas and values into something tangible. What really started as a hobby, has turned into a career built around passion, intention, problem-solving, and storytelling.
How would you define your vision of design, your style?
I see design as the perfect balance between clarity and emotion. My vision is rooted in creating work that feels intentional, thoughtful, and honest; design that communicates clearly but still leaves room for feeling. Stylistically, my works leans toward refined, modern, and minimal systems, but it’s always grounded in concept. I’m drawn to strong typography, purposeful layouts, and cohesive visual systems that elevate a brand without overcomplicating it. Every decision is there for a reason.
For the future, what are your professional projects?
Looking ahead, I want to continue building meaningful brand experiences that feel elevated and human. I’m focused on expanding my experience across disciplines such as branding, packaging, and visual systems, while collaborating with studios and brands I admire, and who value strong concepts and long-term thinking. I’m also interested in projects that connect creativity, strategy, and innovation — where design is not a decoration, but part of the driving force behind the brand’s identity and growth.
What do you like the most in your job?.
What I enjoy the most about my job is the collaborative process. Every project starts with conversation, trust, and working closely with people to understand their vision. I love turning those shared ideas into clear, meaningful design and seeing collaboration transform concepts into something real and impactful.
