Discover the interview of Omar Altayeb:

How did you become designer?

My journey began when I observed a friend working in the design industry. I was captivated by the diverse nature of the work and the creative flow involved. This inspired me to pursue design as a career. I found myself particularly drawn to visual identities and branding, leading me to specialize and immerse myself deeply in this field.

How would you define your vision of design, your style?

My vision is rooted in finding the perfect balance between function and aesthetics. While I adapt to the market’s needs, I have a distinct inclination towards Minimalism. My style is defined by ‘Visual Engineering’ I rely heavily on mathematical ratios and geometric grids to ensure every design has a high-end, harmonious feel. I believe that true beauty lies in a balanced structure.

For the future, what are your professional projects?

I plan to establish ‘Jar’ as a globally-oriented agency specializing in branding. My goal is to synthesize diverse inspirations from art to nature to create unique results. I aim to build an agency that isn’t afraid of ‘crazy’ or avant-garde ideas, but grounds them in solid design principles to deliver work that is both distinct and commercially powerful.

What do you like the most in your job?.

I love the process of distilling complexity into simplicity. My workflow always starts with a pen and paper, sketching raw ideas from various sources, before moving to my essential tool, Adobe Illustrator, to refine them. The greatest challenge and joy is taking a complicated concept and engineering it into a simple, professional, and aesthetically pleasing visual. That moment of reaching a ‘clean’ solution is what drives me.
