Mariam Grigoryan from BE THE CHANGE

Discover the interview of Mariam Grigoryan from BE THE CHANGE:

How did you become designer?

The journey began at university. As a Master’s graduate in Advertising, I knocked on many doors in search of a place where I could truly realize myself.
However, due to the state of the market in our country, I soon stepped away from this path and moved into a completely different field — one connected with commercial art and art galleries.
After several years of experience in this sphere, quite by chance, I found myself in a place that would determine the course of my entire future career. I joined the most serious, professional, and respected branding agency in my country — an environment that shaped both me and my professional future through years of intense, educational, and skill-sculpting work.
Following several years of rich experience and a two-year pause, the agency Be The Change was founded. Our first revolutionary restaurant project transformed the local market and brought recognition to our team.
Today, the agency continues to expand its horizons and the industries for which it creates brands. It actively participates in exhibitions and festivals and has already become a laureate of the most prestigious award in our industry — the Pentawards.

How would you define your vision of design, your style?

The name of our agency speaks for itself. We are driven by a living and very healthy ambition to change the world for the better, and the only way we can influence this process is through our work.
We love observing how the branding we create transforms businesses for the better — how it reshapes the commercial landscape and subtly shifts the direction of design at small yet crucial points of visual presence in the market. We enjoy creating change.
Moreover, our agency sees design as a tool for selling, regardless of whether that sale is physical or mental. What matters to us is that the product we create is truly “bought” — whether with money or with attention. This is the right path to building a successful business, and we consistently strive to ensure that branding becomes a vital link in that journey.

For the future, what are your professional projects?

The majority of our projects have been in the HoReCa sector — a field we truly love and now know exceptionally well. However, over the past two years, we have also focused a significant part of our resources on creating high-performing, sales-driven packaging design for products across both physical and digital markets.
The beauty and self-care sector is also developing strongly within our portfolio. We have already successfully entered the European market and are highly motivated to expand our presence there further.
Alongside this, our agency holds an ambitious long-term goal: to collaborate on a project with a global market-leading brand. We are moving towards this dream with steady, confident steps.
