How did you become designer?
I love drawing and calligraphy since I was a kid, so I decided to study in Graphic Design in college. After graduate, my professor encouraged me to study further in this industry. So I went to San Francisco to pursue the MFA degree in Academy of Art University. Then I was working in a design studio in SF, and finally I came back to Hang Zhou to start my own design studio.
How would you define your vision of design, your style?
I like concise but powerful visuals. I always try to dig deeper in what things representing, and visualize the meaning in a minimal but creative way. For style wise, I think my style is contemporary and organized.
For the future, what are your professional projects?
I’m working on several consumer brands’ identity projects. Such as personal skin care products, beverages and Electric Vehicle charging system. It’s interesting and challenging to be the connection between startup brands and consumers. It’s also very important to help these companies to be as environmental-friendly as possible.
What do you like the most in your job?
I love to dive into different projects from different industries. I can learn new knowledge and new experience every time I work with a new project. Also I learn a lot from clients, who is usually at the top level in their industry. In the design world, I never get bored. And of course I feel accomplished when people likes my design.
