Heloisa Helena

Discover the interview of Heloisa Helena in Sao Paulo, Brazil

How did you become designer ?

My name is Heloisa Helena.  I am originally from São Paulo, Brazil. I grew up in this huge underground city, surrounded by street art, graffiti, music and arts culture. In my twenties I went to live overseas and spent 10 years of my life traveling around the world, studying languages and living in places like California, Madri, London and Amsterdam.
Graphic design came to my life naturally after I became a mother. I felt the necessity of working on something that I could spend more time with my daughter.  It was a natural development and today I couldn’t imagine my life without designing everyday. Quickly I created a wallet of clients that trusted in my work and they’re always coming back for more.

How would you define your vision of design, your style ?

My main inspirations to design are the nature, music and art. I love to design my own clothes, fun brand identities, everything about patterns and lettering, simple but colourful illustrations, quirky packaging, cool websites.

For the future, what are your professional projects ?

I will definitely continue with my freelance career,  always in search of levelling up my skills and soon I’ll launch Bee&Bee my clothing company in partnership with my friend from Brooklyn. NY –  Cathy Claussel. Stay tuned!  Here’s a moodboard of our new brand style https://br.pinterest.com/DesignTika13/bb-co/

What do you like the most in your job ?

I think that mostly is that I am exposed to projects from all around the world and I really enjoy the mobility that working as a freelance allows me. I can work from anywhere in the world and It’s great! I speak fluently Portuguese, Spanish, English and een klein beetje of Dutch which allows me to work on many different projects and to be in contact with many different cultures, I just love it!
