Discover the interview of Ankur Chaudhary:

How did you become designer?

I am a self taught artist and illustrator who has been passionate about art and design since a young age. While studying literature in college, I began exploring my passion more seriously and participated in national level painting and design competitions, winning several of them. During this time one of my personal projects went viral and caught the attention of celebrities and brands, leading to professional collaborations. I am a multidisciplinary artist who paints, designs, creates murals, cartoons, and packaging design, and I have learned everything through online resources like YouTube and by studying the work of other artists. I love to keep upskilling myself and enjoy learning new creative techniques.

How would you define your vision of design, your style?

My vision of design is to create work that is bold, expressive, and rooted in storytelling. I blend cultural influences with modern aesthetics, using playful illustrations, vibrant colours, and detailed compositions to connect with people on an emotional level. My style is multidisciplinary and often combines doodles, characters, and patterns inspired by pop culture, everyday life, and my travels. I believe design should not only look good but also spark curiosity, start conversations, and leave a lasting impression.

For the future, what are your professional projects?

After a decade of experience in the industry, working as a Creative Head at a leading FMCG company and having collaborated with startups, large multinational corporations, top advertising agencies, and global brands such as Coca Cola, Snapchat, KFC, Budweiser, and many more, I am now focused on two main goals. I aspire to become the national creative head for a major brand and to establish my own design house that produces outstanding work. Through this venture, I want to promote Indian cultural designs and art forms, bringing them to a global audience while keeping them relevant in modern contexts.

What do you like the most in your job?

What I love most about my job is the wonderful people I get to collaborate with and the inspiring individuals I meet along the way. I enjoy the process of creating designs that bring joy to people and, at times, carry a social message or raise awareness about important issues. It is fulfilling to know that my work can contribute to positive change and inspire the younger generation to confidently pursue their passions and turn their hobbies into full time careers.
