Discover the interview of Andromachi Kakava from ABC Design Communication:
How did you become designer?
From a young age, I was fascinated by how objects, products and visuals can transmit emotions and messages. I studied and followed the path of design because I wanted to give shape to ideas that connect people with their everyday life. That is why I founded ABC Design Communication, and through a journey of more than 25 years of creation and experience, design has become my everyday reality.
How would you define your vision of design, your style?
My vision is to create designs that have substance and durability. I do not believe in ephemeral design, but in design that stands out, wins the consumer and builds a strong connection with the brand. My style combines clarity, attention to detail and creative imagination, with a strong focus on packaging and branding. I enjoy design that tells a story without unnecessary ornamentation.
For the future, what are your professional projects?
I want to continue expanding my client base both in Greece and abroad. I am particularly interested in markets such as Europe, the Middle East and Asia, which are strong and fast-growing centers. At the same time, I want to further highlight the work of ABC Design through international competitions and awards, and collaborate with brands that seek premium and innovative packaging solutions.
What do you like the most in your job?
For me it’s simple, I love everything about my job. I know it might sound a little cheesy, but design is part of my everyday life. I notice it, I appreciate it, I live with it. You’ll always find me exploring new things I love the fact that no day is ever the same. Design is a challenge: every project has its own needs and demands. The most rewarding feeling is when I see my work taking shape, appearing on the shelves or in the hands of consumers, and becoming part of their lives. That is what inspires me and keeps me always creative.
