I received an order to create a creative packaging design for a box of dog and cat food. Starting from choosing a name, everything was on my shoulders. And I started doing research. It all started with the name. I thought for a long time about giving the brand a name that would fully characterize dogs and cats and realized that the name PAW was the ideal option in this case. I used a dog paw icon in the logo, and wrote the text part in a bubble font, which is more typical for animals. After doing all this work, I moved on to thinking about the packaging design. In this case, my choice fell on a dog paw – what if the box is also a dog paw, I thought and started working on the box. The box should be dark black, I realized that it should be elegant and attractive. The food would be of three types: chicken, duck and fish. Chicken and duck food are intended for dogs, and fish is for cats. Therefore, it was necessary to make it immediately clear from looking at the box which food is intended for whom. And I decided to divide the types into colors: chicken food will be yellow, duck food will be orange, and fish food will be blue. I put the logos on the boxes in their corresponding colors so that the buyer can easily find which specific type he needs. In addition, I decided that the box should be metal and can also serve as a food bowl. This will simplify the issue of feeding animals outside. You will no longer need to carry a bag with you to be able to feed animals outside. You open the box and it is already a food bowl. You put it in front of the animal and it calmly eats its food from there.
