Discover the interview of Yuliia Khudolii:
How did you become designer?
I originally planned to study game design, but this field wasn’t available at my college and was mostly taught abroad, so I was advised to pursue graphic design instead. At first, it felt very different from what I had imagined, but over time I became deeply engaged and genuinely enjoyed the process. After graduating, I worked with local companies, then gradually moved into international freelance projects, collaborated with global brands, and launched my own Etsy shop. Looking back, I have no regrets choosing graphic design — it turned out to be the right path for me.
How would you define your vision of design, your style?
I would describe my design vision as clean, thoughtful, and functional. I’m drawn to minimalism, but always with purpose — every element should have a reason to exist. I use AI as a tool to support and speed up my workflow, not to replace design thinking; the final decisions, structure, and visual logic are always driven by my own approach. My goal is to create modern, timeless design that adapts easily across different platforms and markets.
For the future, what are your professional projects?
In the future, I plan to grow as a designer through more strategic and concept-driven projects. I aim to continue working with international brands, expand my Etsy shop, and eventually launch my own design studio. I also want to explore the balance between human creativity and AI tools. My goal is to create thoughtful, scalable, and relevant work in a global design context.
What do you like the most in your job?.
I especially enjoy seeing my designs in the real world. I think every designer would agree that it’s a special feeling to walk past a shop facade, billboard, flyer, business card, or other printed materials and see your work there — knowing that your design exists physically and connects with people.
