How did you become designer ?

I studied drawing at the École des Beaux Arts and then at a Graphic Design School.
I was barely in high school when I already loved drawing and art history classes There was no doubt about going to an Art School.

Then, after an experience in a communication agency, I became the Artistic Manager of  a premium Paper Napkins? Company. My mission was  to create patterns, follow trends, adapt to the range of customers. I was in my last twenty and it was a very good challenge.
Then it inspired me to go further and I became a freelancer in 2007. It was a lot of work, a lot of stress but a lot of fun. I immediately developed an international clientele, and very quickly found myself prospecting in China, United States and UK. I naturally turned to textile design for the home sector, because I knew the market through my personal experience and love the creativity in this sector.

How would you define your vision of design, your style ?

I very quickly had contracts with mass market and mid-range manufacturers. The style must be efficient, very readable on the shelf or now on instagram, and respond very quickly to trends. For me, it’s not about making timeless artwork, but rather about making the product that will be at the top.

For the future, what are your professional projects

I still work for my regular brands in linen and tableware and I am developing my Live Sketching business.
I make quick illustrations of guests during PR Event, in their elegant outfits, using watercolors on artist paper.
5 minutes posing, 3 minutes enhancing  and the guests will go home with unforgettable memories, unique to the event, in the form of exclusive custom portraits.
I will be at Le Bon Marché in Paris in November and December for the Holidays season, to make portraits of customers.

What do you like the most in your job ?

I like adrenaline.
I like the adrenaline of live sketching. I have to be prepared, super organized, welcoming and warm with the guests. I have to create a contact to make them feel comfortable while drawing them. Make them beautiful, and be creative in 3 minutes !
I like the adrenaline of creativity, contacting a new customer, reading a brief, analyzing trends, understanding a brand and finally drawing…
