How did you become designer ?

This goes way back, even before high school. I was always attracted to the idea of drawing and sketching. I even made several animations during early high school. Being young, I couldn’t decide exactly what ? wanted to study, so I ended up studying Economics at the University of Macedonia while studying Comics & Animation on Comink Institute Art Department. By the time I was done with my studies, I was already taking up illustration projects and was involved with publishers. It was clear as day that I had to move on with design, so not long after I also studied Graphic Design at IEK AKMI. A great passion grew into me ever since studying graphic design, a proof that this was the right choice.

How would you define your vision of design, your style ?

I started as a comic artist, an illustrator. This is how I define myself. Being able to combine the 9th art – comics with graphic design… well, I think that is just amazing! But I feel that my style is still evolving along with every project take on. This whole journey of trying to define your art, is actually a way to define your own self. Lots of things to learn before you actually end up with your own, original style – that would still go on absorving new information every time. So, I would prefer to just say; a minimalist illustrator that is still evolving. I am not quite sure that there is a vision behind all this, I do prefer to remain a pragmatist, but the main goal is to learn as many things as possible.

For the future, what are your professional projects ?

There are so many things I have in mind. I love travelling aboard, going to events and workshops, visiting exhibition halls, etc. I used to do that before I start my own creative agency and I still do. I wouldn’t ask for anything else! Apart from that, I am also very keen in learning new drawing and sketching techniques, as well as learning more about motion graphics – which is a part of the design industry that is quickly evolving and I find extremely interesting!

What do you like the most in your job ?

There are so many things I love being a designer. So many different projects guarantee that you will never have to repeat the same process! Being creative, being able to do different things all the time, is exactly why I was attracted in design in the very first place. There is always the joy of creating something new and different as well as being recognized for your work. All that satisfaction is more than enough to get me moving every day.
