Discover the interview of Pamela Cuadros, located in Cabarete, Dominican Republic

How did you become designer ?

I had a passion for graphics since my early teen years. I would look up to artists and knew it was what I wanted to do. When I was still in high school, I started making flyers for underground concerts and started my own silkscreen t-shirts business. It was fun and it felt right. I always kept busy learning from different courses and internships until I made my way to university to study advertising. And that’s when it all started.

How would you define your vision of design, your style ?

Clean and elegant with a funky twist every once in a while.

For the future, what are your professional projects ?

I’m currently working as an in-house designer for a US501(c)(3) not for profit organization and it’s been a life changing experience, both professionally and personal, because of the amazing work we’re doing together, that includes a travel magazine and a recycled sails brand, to educate and empower underprivileged girls of our community (which is a tourist destination!).

Besides that, I keep designing for my own personal clients and own a surf brand apparel with my husband here in Cabarete, Dominican Republic. So far, I’d like to keep it just like it is.

What do you like the most in your job ?

That you never stop learning. And that every project is a challenge and the results are a big satisfaction.
