How did you become designer?
Unlike other people, I didn’t have a clear image of what would my career be, until I saw some university exercises that the daughter of my mother’s friend was doing and I said “I want to do this too”! But those exercises were only a small part of all educational plan of EINA University (Barcelona). Connecting with interesting teachers and learning patiently the different aspects of this profession drove me inside design world.

How would you define your vision of design, your style?
I haven’t been trained in a big studio, I have worked on my own and that means a simmer learning, adding experiences and dealing directly with very different people and scenarios.
All these years I always have in mind the power and the paper of design in our actual world, trying to work in an ethically and fairly way.

I want to select and enjoy every project, go to the core with the client, rethink objectives and have time to find a seductive concept. Often my visual solutions distills details that come from local traditions or linguistic aspects of my language (catalan).

For the future, what are your professional projects?
I only have two hands and one head so it’s impossible to do all the things that come my mind! I have to be a bit selective and be ready to enjoy the new, interesting and useful projects that arrive on my desk.

Currently there are a lot of design educational and formatives offers, there are a lot of designers for square meter. Also professional intrusion is in the agenda, there are agencies that make everything and there are those specialized only in one area. And if we look at the crisis of the capitalism, may be more changes are coming soon. How will we develop our profession? A future full of challenges is waiting for us!

What do you like the most in your job?
One of the interesting things of my job is that in each project I have the possibility to know, analyze and think for a graphic solution to different realities of our society. It is like a new “job” in every new project, a way to avoid routine and let creativity flow.
Also it is fantastic when a project of La Fonda Gràfica is shown in a different places and supports, like magazines, exhibitions, blogs, social networks, etc. It adds a new value to the project itself and to the client (who will be better known).
I love happy endings with a smile on my customer’s face, and on mine.
