How did you become designer ?
I am a curious animal, always keen about my surroundings. Be it nature, technology, social or cultural I always gain new perspective from each and in that process graphic design is my tool to express. It allows me to decode the world around me. I am a self taught artist who has learnt everything from experiences.
How would you define your vision of design, your style ?
I am deeply Inspired by nature. The subtlety and completeness of it has always been fascinating to me. The Harmony of Form, Space and colors creating something alive; Its magical !
I love playing around with forms and experiment with different expressions it can be moulded into. I am a huge fan of color. I believe they amplify everything that we see. I enjoy working on Wall Art, Spatial Installations, Illustrations and Branding projects. I always seek for balance; when design is a not just a visual treat but it hits your senses.
If I trigger an emotion with my art, I think I have done my job right.
For the future, what are your professional projects ?
I have been working as a freelancer since 6 years in collaboration Meroo Seth & now we finally launched our own studio called ‘Mechi Co. Design’. So big plans and projects coming up in the branding and illustration premises. I am also exploring my way into furniture and product design with Bhavneet Kaur. We just launched our first collection and many more are in the pipeline.
What do you like the most in your job ?
Art and Design I believe construct the very core of me. It makes me humble, more emotional and understanding. I enjoy the excitement and thrill each project brings. The itch to create is exciting. Unbound by rules and regulations and free by my thoughts; graphic design becomes my aid to make a difference and strike a thought.
