Discover the interview of Marmik Patel in Ahmedabad, India.
How did you become designer ?
I have always been interested in building things since my childhood, I grew up thinking I was going to be an architect but never opted for it as my maths was weak.
I ended up joining a design
school and I pursued product design where I was thrilled at the idea of problem-solving and material manipulation approach because it would widen my (constantly evolving) vision on any project I take up.
How would you define your vision of design, your style ?
My style is more research driven and experimental with an excellent eye for detail, but at the same time, a simple and clear process.
I believe in applying a user-centred design approach to all projects I am involved in, as I find that it is the best method to create experiences that inspire people.
For the future, what are your professional projects
I have been a freelance designer for almost 2 years which I intend to keep going.
But I am excited for my two startups which I am working on at the moment and I believe they are going to be hitting a home run for the future.
What do you like the most in your job ?
The freedom and flexibility of my profession, to convert the initial concept into the ultimate experience.
