Laure Saint-Martin

Discover the interview of Laure Saint-Martin in Paris, France.

How did you become designer ?

To tell the truth, it just happened to me ! Younger I wanted to be a midwife, a physicist, an engineer … I was in love with science and I always projected myself in a very “cartesian” job. When it came time to choose my futur career, I was very lucky that my mother pushed me to look forward all the ways that opened to me. Beyond my very scientific mind I also spent a lot of time to create all kinds of things with my hands. So it’s by informing me that I discovered industrial design, a universe at the crossroads of art and science!

How would you define your vision of design, your style ?

I’m working in a Design Packaging agency. The diversity of brand and customer issues that we saw are really interesting.
In order to give at each answer the right tone of voice for the brand, we use different graphics styles. More personal,
I also have a blog on which I share sewing tips and DIY in a graphic universe with pop colors always embellished with lots of glitter!

For the future, what are your professional projects

In the future I would like to build more sustainable projects around design and fashion. Sometimes, I dream of being more independent to bring projects with my personal main values.

What do you like the most in your job ?

“To create” is the most important thing that I like in my job. Creativity is an inexhaustible gray matter, so surprising! It’s personal to everyone and it becomes even more powerful when we are all together.
