Lassnig Studio - Marta González Palacios

Discover the interview of Marta González Palacios from Lassnig Studio, Barcelona, Spain.

How did you become designer ?

I have always been a very curious, observant and restless girl. So, when I was 12 years old, I discovered Paint software, so I created my own magazine; mixing types, doodles, colors… then I printed all the pages, cut and pasted images from other magazines and unwittingly, I created my first “editorial designs”. After studying Law and Accountancy, I knew this knowledge wasn´t my thing, so I remember how happy I was creating my own magazines. After that, I started studying Graphic Design at an Art School, which later made me move to Barcelona to continue my education at Elisava’s Design School, so here I am 😀

How would you define your vision of design, your style ?

When you create branding, catalogues or packaging projects for someone, you shouldn’t have a signature style, because you should adapt to each client’s need, however, everyone has his personality, influences, and preferences, therefore in an unconscious way, you always bring your essence to the projects. Our designs are colorful, simple, bold, and funky.

For the future, what are your professional projects?

Lassnig is a studio which has been recently created, we really enjoy the proximity with our clients, so as such we are focused on small and medium companies, along with startups… this kind of companies give us more creative freedom.

What do you like the most in your job ?

We are passionate about: create concepts and think about how our brand will communicate, looking for the differentiation and how it will express itself.
