Discover the interview of Heavy:
How did you become designer?
Heavy was founded in 2016 by Sofía Vargas and Lane Cope who met in University and worked together ever since. Although they majored in Integral Design, they shared a common interest in branding and more artistic areas. As soon as they graduated, they formed the Studio and the rest is history.
How would you define your vision of design, your style?
At Heavy, we focus on creating brands with visual and emotional weight.
The studio ethos stems from the idea that “brands are people,” with character, taste, and aspirations. This philosophy carries throughout our method, combining craft and creativity to create vibrant solutions for brands worldwide.
For the future, what are your professional projects?
We want to continue doing what we love: heavy brands, as we colaborate with clients around the world. We have always wanted to remain as a small studio in size, but with increasingly challenging projects.
What do you like the most in your job?
Creating new ways to communicate. At Heavy we really enjoy working with our clients to deliver brands with a personality that stands out on its own. The whole creative process it takes to achieve this, mixing analog and digital methods, is what we love the most.
