Discover the interview of Edna Silveira, located in Lisbon, Portugal.

How did you become designer ?

Being a Communication/graphic designer, wasn’t an obvious choice for me. Since I was a kid I had an aptitude for and explored drawing, painting and other forms of art. There wasn’t any doubt that someday I would work on something related to art, but when I chose the Communication Design course, I wasn’t sure I had the passion and the right skills. For a while there was uncertainty, I didn’t know if I had made the right choice, but over time I fell more and more in love with this area and today I know it is my passion.

How would you define your vision of design, your style ?

Mostly as a clean and minimal design. I constantly try to find new ways to deliver a message in a creative and, often, not very obvious way, through which, with a closer look it is possible to unravel a concept. I am a perfectionist and I do pay a lot of attention to detail.

For the future, what are your professional projects ?

I hope to learn even more, to stimulate my creativity and to improve my skills continuously. I’m passionate about packaging and wine label design, something I would like to continue to explore in the future.

What do you like the most in your job ?

To be able to deliver a message in an attractive and creative way, through an universal language – the image. To have the freedom to think “out of the box” and try out new concepts and ideas. Sometimes it is a great challenge because it constantly requires a lot of inspiration. The whole process of graphic design is stimulating, from the conception of an idea to the joy of seeing the final product.
