Discover the interview with Amaia and Elena, creators of Bonita Estudio:
How did you become a designer?
We decided to open a studio on our city because we wanted to introduce design in Pamplona. We were fascinated by the design that flooded the streets of Madrid or Barcelona and we dreamed of bringing that graphic language to our hometown. With this aim, and thanks to our academic background (having studied both of us a 4-year degree in Graphic Design) we started this journey. At that point we were, and still are, tired of the intrusion that still exists in our sector and we keep working hard to show the importance of a professional designer in order to achieve a suitable design for the client’s needs.
How would you define your design vision, your style?
Our claim perfectly sums it up in three words: “We modernize tradition.” We believe that history and art are fundamental pillars when creating good designs. Therefore, our style could be defined as contemporary and clean, with some touches that always try to recover “the tradition”. This is how we create projects with their own soul and a story to tell.
For the future, what are your professional projects?
Our goal is to bring design closer to ordinary citizens with each project. Showing people the value that our work really has and that good design is not always subject to exorbitant prices.
What do you like the most in your job ?
Working on any project regarding the image of a brand. From the creation of a logo, to the final applications (both printed and digital). It is very gratifying to see how a business is born, to help it have a presence with a name and to see it grow by creating its entire brand universe. Of course this requires time to get to know the client and their history well, which means that it is a long road. But when you come to the end, it is very pleasing to see a job well done, a project that really works, and that has left the client satisfied and happy.
