Discover the interview of Anastasis Stratakis.
How did you become designer ?
From a relatively early stage I found myself wavering between fine arts and graphic design, so I ended up studying and doing both. I very much enjoy the creative opportunities offered in both fields — their distinctive differences, their potential similarities and the inspiring experimentation involved in everything in between.
How would you define your vision of design, your style ?
Well, my work as an artist has undoubtedly influenced the way I approach design, mainly on a conceptual level. I wouldn’t define my way of working so much as ‘style’, in the visual sense of the word, as a consistent way of thinking — my work relies on simplicity and functionality, while my methodology is research based and suited to the particular needs of each project.
For the future, what are your professional projects ?
What do you like the most in your job ?
I particularly enjoy both the creativity and the mild agony compressed in the moment between a project’s strategically constructed conceptual part and its full-of-possibilities visualisation.
