Discover the interview of Allyson dos Reis in Fortaleza, Brasil.
How did you become designer ?
Since my childhood, drawing and imagery were my form of expression. Expressing myself to the world visually was my way of communicating with people. As time went by my form of communicating with the world has become a professional challenge. Turning ideas into imagery became a serious play, but still, is a lot of fun to me.
How would you define your vision of design, your style ?
Me and my team at Abracadabra (my design company founded in 2008 in Brazil) search for an elegant simplicity. Take off the unnecessary and put what is meaningful. Bring together reason and emotion, logic and magic in a single design. I seek to understand the people and their stories and transform that into a visual narrative full of emotional impact.
For the future, what are your professional projects ?
Make Abracadabra designs achieve a positive impact in the world we’re living. Not just an economic impact for brands, but to be able to change people’s lives through a more human and responsible thinking.
What do you like the most in your job ?
To solve problems, to discover both brand and people’s souls and transform ideas into visual messages. Work with brands of different sizes and market sectors also makes our work a much more fun thing to do.
