Aptera olive oil is a premium virgin oil produced in Crete and distributed in delicacy stores across Greece and Austria.
Aptera is a village in Crete with a rich and unique history. Its name is derived from Greek mythology, where Aptera was the site of the legendary contest between the Sirens and the Muses. After the Muses’ victory, the Sirens lost the feathers from their wings, turning white and casting themselves into the sea. The name “Aptera” literally means “without wings,” reflecting this mythological tale.
Mythological heritage inspired the inclusion of wings in our logo, symbolising the unique story of Aptera and the legendary contest between the Sirens and the Muses.
