“Contemporary vision of the splendor of Roman commerce in Carthago Spartaria (present-day Cartagena, Spain)”

The design is based on the Roman origin of the current city of Cartagena (Spain) In Roman times, the port of Carthago Nova/Spartaria, highly valued by the ancients because of its strategic position, became a real commercial emporium in the Mediterranean. The port agreements were closed with a handshake (being the origin of this gesture) and this has been maintained with a contemporary vision, reflected in a coin, a tangible symbol of trade.
