Sunny Kooner

In my role as the Creative Designer for the Vancouver Art Gallery, one of North America’s largest and most innovative visual arts institutions, this is one rendition of the children’s poster series concept and reimagining/rebranding I designed for the Gallery’s Family FUSE Weekend.

Inspired by contemporary children’s design in the current design landscape and illustrative/collage instagram feeds, I wanted to create something accessible to children and adults from an aesthetic value stand point. Also integral was the coupling of the relation to art and the principle mandate of the Gallery, while still being semi-commercial yet conceptual to meet the style and ideology of the event. The goal was to bring continuity to the promotional graphics and visuals released for these events triannually to the public, so that it becomes a recognizable style/aesthetic and signifies children and the Gallery’s involvement in family programming in a fun and imaginative way.
