How did you become designer?

I first wanted to become a Graphic Designer when I was in Secondary school, I was always a fan of Art and Design and enjoyed drawing whatever it was in front of me. However, I enjoyed the way graphic design made me think about how to visualise and produce work to be perceived by others, portraying multiple meanings. So I went on to the University of Cumbria where I studied Graphic Design for a Degree.

How would you define your vision of design, your style?

I’d say that my style of work is playful colourful and bold, because I want people to notice it. I like to think people can see how much I enjoyed working on a project because it’s usually something fun and different.

For the future, what are your professional projects?

Currently freelancing and recently worked on a packaging project for a new Green Tea company that has a no nonsense attitude. It has been fun to work on as the client was looking for something that wasn’t my usual style but it allowed me to try different techniques which has also helped me grow as a designer.

What do you like the most in your job?

What I love most is getting away from the computer screen and being really hands on with a project and making prototypes out of card, figuring out how things work and fit together. It helps to visualise the final product.
