Discover the interview of Alena Morgunova.

How did you become designer ?

I always knew that I would become an artist as I was born in the artist’s` family. My first childhood memories were canvases and paints. My first books were rare publications with world art masterpieces prints. That’s why an artistic job choice was obvious to me. Among all visual art styles I was most attracted by graphic design. After the graduation from Academy of Design and Fine Arts my husband and I started design studio 2IN1 DESIGN that has been working for over 10 years now.

How would you define your vision of design, your style ?

I do different types of graphic design from logo to packing. I like to explore, try things out. For example, right now I am fascinated by calligraphy and creating fonts. I do my best to make my every single project up-to-date, high-quality and professional. But for sure, the most important thing is an idea!

For the future, what are your professional projects ?

I`m working at a couple of different projects right now. One of them is an interactive notebook for art lovers – Sky notebook .Each page of it contains a fragment of an artwork. All the fragments are united by one single subject which is the sky. Every page contains a QR code that redirects to the corresponding fragment painting page to find more information about its name, author, host museum and the complete version of the painting. Our studio is planning to go to Kickstarter with this project in the nearest future.

Being a designer helps quench my insatiable curiosity, while putting both sides of my brain to work. It gives me great satisfaction to know that I am one of the few individuals who helps in the unification of people worldwide via the means of graphic design, as it is a universal language.
